The top news story in June amongst Singaporeans was the historic Trump-Kim summit which took place on June 12 at Sentosa’s Capella Hotel. Nearly all Singaporeans (95%) followed the news, with more than half (51%) saying they paid close attention.
Three of the top five news stories ranked by Singaporeans featured our closest neighbour, Malaysia: the shock election victory by former PM Mahathir, the new Government announcing its deliberation over the high-speed rail project linking KL and Singapore, and the abolishment of the country’s prevailing 6% GST.
