Singaporeans continue to focus on the Hong Kong protests as the top news story for August (93%), followed by the failed Huawei $54 phone promotion, which resulted in a public apology by the phone maker (87%). Suggestions of higher public transport fares by Minister Khaw Boon Wan was the third most followed news at 85%.
