every+one is Blackbox’s bi-monthly scan of Southeast Asia.

Conducted in conjunction with Toluna, it provides regular updates on key trends and on-the-ground sentiment across six Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

This month, we dive into the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Southeast Asians: their satisfaction, confidence levels, and their sentiments since recent improvements in vaccine rollouts. 

The region has seen improvements overall in the past few months, and confidence levels have risen as more and more residents are inoculated. 

Further, we take a look at the changing landscape of media consumption for the urban Southeast Asian since the pandemic hit. As millions were forced to stay home due to lockdowns, Southeast Asians in urban households had to rely on their computer, mobile or tablet device as their primary source of entertainment. Consequently, streaming services have seen exponential growth in subscribership.

We also uncover what brands Southeast Asians flock to today, and, finally, we ask them where their dream destination would be after monthslong lockdowns.
